    "Like a kid in a candy store . . ."

is a phrase I've taken seriously since opening Polo Nuts and Candy, Etc. here in 1985.  Indeed,

we've come such a long way from those days of over 400 varieties of candies and nuts, plus

ice cream and popcorn, and in 1990 began focusing our culinary efforts and experience on

Polo Cafe and Catering Bridgeport U.S.A.

For more  than 26 years we continue to bring "something different . . . something wonderful!"

to thousands of folks at The TASTE of Chicago where we've served Shark Veracruz, Stuffed Salmon,

Crab Cake Nuggets, and Garlic-Mozzarella Cheese Bread during our 20 years along the lakefront,

or with our spectacular cookies & candy trays and custom Easter gift baskets adorned by our signature

satin  bows, or at our masterfully catered productions and  lavish, beautiful buffets which touch

so many lives giving lots of precious memories for our customers and their guests.

Since 1997, I've offered an elegant private room attached to my restaurant called the "Old Eagle Room"

Originally built in 1914 as a neighborhood picture show named The Eagle Theater, it accommodates

up to 100 guests, including a mezzanine.   According to The Chicago Sun-Times, "...it has some of the best

acoustics in the City," and features a magnificent three-manual Rodgers 360 Theatre Organ (voiced by the

late John Seng in 2000), a 20-channel audio/DJ system, and on the theatrically-lit stage, a rare solid walnut

1964 Wurlitzer Grand Piano for your total entertainment.

Finally, I've recently added the latest extension  Bridgeport Bed and Breakfast: four spacious 2-3 bedroom,

handsomely decorated, themed suites with private bath above my legendary Polo Cafe  with complimentary

lighted parking lot and breakfast downstairs in Polo Cafe

Minutes south of the Loop, my place is ideal to gather for a special event, dinner or reception, wedding or

holy/civi union ceremony, as  well as holiday parties, corporate seminars & team bonding, meetings,

retreats, and entertainment performances, plus unique overnight lodging.

I personally oversee the kitchen and the many details of each catered event, plus my bed and breakfast,

and look forward to serving you soon!!

                                                                             -Dave
